Dehydrogenase-Elevating Virus and Its RNA

چکیده
Lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) was purified from culture fluid of infected primary cultures of various mouse tissues (peritoneal macrophage, bone marrow, spleen, and embryo) and from plasma of infected mice. Electron microscopy of negatively stained virus and positively stained sections of LDV revealed spherical particles of uniform size with a diameter of about 55 nm, containing an electron-dense core with a diameter of about 30 nm. During sample preparation the envelope had a tendency to slough off and disintegrate to form aggregates of various sizes and small hollow particles with a diameter of 8 to 14

Energy parasites trigger oncogene mutation.
PURPOSE Cancer initialization can be explained as a result of parasitic virus energy consumption leading to randomized genome chemical bonding. MATERIALS AND METHODS Analysis of experimental data on cell-mediated immunity (CMI) containing about 12,000 cases of healthy humans, cancer patients and patients with precancerous cervical lesions disclosed that the specific cancer and the non-specifi...
متن کاملLactate Dehydrogenase-Elevating Virus Induces Systemic Lymphocyte Activation via TLR7-Dependent IFNα Responses by Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells
BACKGROUND Lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) is a natural infectious agent of mice. Like several other viruses, LDV causes widespread and very rapid but transient activation of both B cells and T cells in lymphoid tissues and the blood. The mechanism of this activation has not been fully described and is the focus of the current studies. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS A known inducer of early l...
متن کاملStudies on the enzymology of the rhabdomyosarcoma induced by the murine sarcoma virus (Moloney).
SUMMARY The murine sarcoma virus (Moloney) induces a rhabdomyo sarcoma in adult mice followed by a high incidence of regressions. Changes in several biochemical parameters and enzyme levels were followed during the enlargement and regression of the tumor. As the tumor enlarged, water, protein, RNA, and DNA concentrations increased on a dry weight basis. Actomyosin free Mg@@-activated ATPase and...
متن کاملDivergent roles of IFNs in the sensitization to endotoxin shock by lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus.
The effect of mouse infection with lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV), a usually non-pathogenic virus, on concomitant bacterial endotoxin shock was analyzed, in terms of lethality and cytokine production. A strong enhancement of susceptibility to the shock was observed in mice acutely infected with this virus. It correlated with a sharp increase of tumor necrosis factor and leukemia in...
متن کاملPathogenesis and immune response of nonporcine arteriviruses versus porcine arteriviruses
The pathogenesis and immune response of pigs infected with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) are not completely understood. PRRSV, along with equine viral arteritis (EAV), lactate dehydrogenase elevating virus of mice (LDV), and simian hemorrhagic fever virus (SHFV), are members of the genus Arteriviridae. This review summarizes the similarities and the differences fou...
